Urooj Mazhar
Urooj weaves magic with her words and has the ability to sketch a silver lining around the darkest of clouds. She instils confidence and optimism into her training and turns the conversation around to coach, teach and train front-line industries. Urooj finds her passion for people and purpose. Her philosophy is to pursue the bigger idea; her measure is the increment in organizational value.
Straight after her MBA, Urooj set foot in the Training & Development Sector and since then has acquired multiple, cross-cultured exposure as Instructional Design trainer, coach, facilitator and mentor. Certified from various platforms such as School of Leadership; UNDP, Thailand; British Council and CPPD, UK; Urooj learnt from local and international trainers. Urooj combines international styles of facilitation blended with local touches to engage her audience and facilitate learning.
With a creative outlook to human development, Urooj has excelled at working with people in an assortment of roles such as manager, organizational developer, trainer, coach, mentor, therapist, TV anchor and team-player. She brings varied experiences as an intrapreneur in social enterprises.
On the training front, Urooj is renowned for her sessions on Communication and Presentation, Customer Service and Creativity. She also actively and passionately trains and coaches young trainers in master training and coaching programs. Urooj is also sought for her work on gender and diversity.
As a Shell Tameer Award Winner for her initiative for people with disability, her endeavors beyond training reflect her deep desire to bring about a social change. Beyond Beauty, a life making program for young women and ExtraCorp, a business centre for physically and mentally challenged people, are her two favorites from an inspiring list. Her current love is her project Amwaj, a platform for streaming human development through coaching, consulting, training and counselling.
Currently, Urooj is based in Toronto where she is part of the leadership training team of a leading home retail organization. She actively works on EDI, mental health and continues to coach and mentor teams and individuals.
