Azam Jamil has spent forty-four years building destinations, organisations and the people who run them — 45,000 individuals trained across more than sixty institutions. He served as Minister of State and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Tourism Coordination, and as Chairman of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation.
He was Corporate Director of both Sales & Marketing and Training & Development for Serena Hotels across South and Central Asia, and was on the opening teams in Islamabad, Kabul and Dushanbe. He worked with the Aga Khan Development Network on the restoration of Shigar and Khaplu Forts, and took the Shigar Fort Restoration Award in London. He has been Vice President of Learning & Development at Hashoo Hotels, Chief Operating Officer of its Education Division and the first Dean of the Hashoo School of Hospitality Management; Chief Hospitality Officer at Ambiance Hotels; and Executive Director of Children of Adam, building Pakistan's first comprehensive neuropsychiatric hospital.
He trained at Cornell, is a CPD-certified life coach and a Franklin Covey certified corporate trainer, and sits on the boards of Namal University, the Hashoo School of Hospitality Management and the Riphah Institute of Hospitality and Culinary Arts. He was the first Asian elected to the board of Best Western International. He was also Pakistan's national tennis doubles champion, and he flies.
